Prime Minister Modi, in an X post, hailed LK Advani as “one of the most respected statesmen of our times” and highlighted the veteran leader’s monumental contribution to the development of India. The prime minister recognized Advani’s journey, starting from grassroots work to serving as the Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Information & Broadcasting Minister, praising his exemplary parliamentary interventions filled with rich insights.

Advani, aged 96, played a pivotal role in leading the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in the 1990s, leaving an indelible mark on the political landscape of the country. The announcement of Bharat Ratna for Advani was met with widespread appreciation and acknowledgment of his enduring legacy in Indian politics.
