As the nation prepares to celebrate Republic Day on January 26, both Delhi and Gurugram police have released comprehensive traffic advisories to ensure smooth coordination during the celebratory events. The Republic Day parade in Delhi is a significant event, and the traffic advisories aim to guide commuters and residents about the expected disruptions and alternative routes.
Delhi Traffic Advisory Highlights:
Parade Route and Timing:
The Republic Day parade is scheduled to commence at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk and will progress towards the Red Fort grounds.
A related event at the National War Memorial near India Gate is planned for 9:30 am.
Traffic Arrangements and Restrictions:
Extensive traffic arrangements and restrictions will be in place along the parade route.
The parade will pass through key areas such as Vijay Chowk, Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, Subhas Chandra Bose roundabout, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhas Marg, and Red Fort.
Prohibited Traffic Areas and Timings:
Kartavya Path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will be closed from 6 pm on the preceding day until the conclusion of the parade.
Cross-traffic at Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road on Kartavya Path will be restricted from 10 pm on the preceding day until the parade concludes.
Alternative Routes:
Commuters are encouraged to use alternative routes, including the route from Madarsa, Lodhi Road T-point through Aurobindo Marg, AIIMS Chowk, Ring Road-Dhaula Kuan, Vande Matram Marg, and Shankar Road to reach Mandir Marg.
Restrictions on Aerial Platforms:
The operation of various aerial platforms, including paragliders, paramotors, UAVs, and others, is restricted over Delhi until February 15.
Inter-State Buses and Heavy Vehicles:
Inter-state buses and heavy transport vehicles from other states are prohibited from entering Delhi during specific timings.

Gurugram Traffic Advisory Highlights:
Restriction on Medium and Heavy Goods Vehicles:
From 5 pm on January 25 until 1:30 pm on January 26, medium and heavy goods vehicles will be restricted from entering Gurugram and Delhi.
Traffic Diversions for Heavy Vehicles:
Heavy vehicles from the Jaipur side on NH-48 will be redirected at Pachgaon on the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal Expressway (KMP) to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Local heavy vehicles in Gurugram will follow alternative routes at key points, including Kherki Toll, Rajiv Chowk, Iffco Chowk, and Shankar Chowk.
Security Measures and Drone Surveillance:
Security arrangements for Republic Day events in Gurugram include drone monitoring and additional patrolling to ensure law and order.
Section 144 Enforcement:
Section 144 of the CrPC has been enforced in Gurugram, including a comprehensive prohibition on the use of drones, aircraft, gliders, air balloons, kites, and microlights until January 26.
Republic Day events in Gurugram will be organized at five venues, with police ensuring effective security through videography and photography using drones.
As the nation commemorates Republic Day, residents and commuters are advised to adhere to the traffic advisories and cooperate with law enforcement authorities for a safe and celebratory atmosphere.
